Dusty and the LoveNotes
Dusty is a native Californian who at an early age moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She grew up on a tributary to the Chesapeake and was immersed in sailing, and while on shore, horses. She played piano, then later the flute in the school band and wanted to learn guitar. At 19 she moved to the Caribbean where she fell deeply in love with sailing and the Islands. While there, she lived aboard, a 50′ cutter-rigged sloop.
Many adventures and ten years later she moved back to California to see what she was missing. She directed her passion for sailing towards horses and became, unequivocally, a dressage queen. After many years, many lame horses, she quit. It had lost it’s joy. Pleasure riding was just fine. She then redirected her passion to music and that’s when she found Indian Joe, she refers to as her “guitar wizard.” He opened the proverbial barn door by teaching her to play and taking her out to perform. “He is a brave and generous man.” After a brief stint in a covers band, Ms Dust decided to write her own songs.
